For instance, instead of having a night stand and a dresser, why not move your dresser next to your bed so you won’t need that night stand. A bedside lamp and your alarm clock will fit nicely on top. This works especially well if your dresser is a short dresser but this could work for a tall one as well.

Another option would be to put a short bookcase next to your bed and use it instead of the night stand. This will free up space in the area of your house or apartment where the bookcase used to be.

There are so many bedroom design ideas available these days. Usually I see that most people will design their house with a particular theme in mind. The size and positioning of the bed needs to be taken into account in any bedroom design, but in a contemporary bedroom, you will want to place it so that there is a lot of room around the bed. Remember, a contemporary design is bright and airy and adequate space is necessary for a minimalist look. The bedding should be in solid, neutral colors that would add to the sleek, clean lines of your contemporary bedroom.
